#AvTvISO_ChennaiPhotowalk

The gentle sea breeze greeted the participants to the 2nd #AvTvISO_ChennaiPhotowalk on Marina Beach at Chennai. As dawn broke on 16 April, 2017, a group of photographers from all walks of life assembled before the Gandhi statue at Marina Beach, ready to explore the second longest beach in the world on foot while capturing fleeting moments of life near the sea.

Shareef Nandyala, the photo walk mentor greeted all the participants and handed over their ID cards that would indicate that they are a part of this group. He shared some tips of photographing on the beach and then they all set off just as the sun came out of its hiding place beyond the ocean.

Hawkers selling healthy foods, old and young people exercising on the sands, youngsters enjoying the momentary relief from the summer hear as they dip into the cool ocean water, stray dogs resting peacefully, the moon still undecided weather to go or stay back, thousands of pigeons looking for a kind benefactor who will feed them grains, neatly arranged piles of fishing nets and boats abandoned on the sands... so many subjects and so little time. The photographers went into a frenzy of clicking photographs.

There is no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than practicing the art of photography with a group of like minded photographers indeed. There was much learning and even more sharing. We saw many perspectives emerge from the photo walk. The photo walkers have already uploaded their clicks from the day on their Instagram and our Facebook Group. If you want to see images from this photowalk, look for them with the #AvTvISO_ChennaiPhotowalk on Instagram and on our Facebook Group. Watch this space for the results of the photo walk challenge.
